We had a great time photographing the Burgett family during their family portrait session. Three of the family members were down from Louisiana for only a few days, so we were honored that they asked us to capture the family together while they were in town. The session was really laid back and extremely fun. For this photo session we able to use two different locations in Bradenton. Enjoy.
No matter how awesome the photographer you hire for your wedding is, no one can be everywhere at once. So now the ceremony is over and the wedding party and immediate family are taking pictures while the rest of the attendees head to the reception or cocktail hour. While the photographer(s) work with you taking the glamor shots, who is with the rest of your guests capturing the candid and fun photos while they mingle and get to know each other? You will be surprised at how many great photo opportunities there are in the early stages of the reception. Now, you can overcome this by hiring a photographer and paying for multiple shooters, but that’s probably going to cost you a pretty penny. You could also go out and purchase a bunch of disposable cameras and place them on tables at your reception, but this can also cost you a pretty penny to get them all developed (My wife and I did this at our wedding 5 years ago and we still have the cameras sitting in the closet that were never developed). Or you can utilize a nice phone app that we ran across called Wedding Party.
With the Wedding Party app you can turn every guest that has a smartphone into your personal wedding photographer. Here are a few great things about this app:
1. Sign up is extremely easy to register your wedding.
2. Guests can sign up using their Facebook account or E-Mail address.
3. Its really easy for guest to upload their images.
4. The images taken can be used to create a Facebook album in just one click.
5. Also works as a digital guestbook.
And there was something else I wanted to mention……..oh yeah, Its FREE!!!!
While this is no replacement for having extra professional photographers to capture your big day, it is a great way to give your guests something to do and allow them to feel that they are contributing to your day.
Black Friday is finally here and people all over the country are filling stores to the max to buy toys, cloths, and electronics to pile up under the christmas tree. While this is important for the economy and for those whose names will appear on the “To:” line of these gifts, there is a gift of great importance that you can get for your family that doesn’t involve crowded stores and spending the night outside in a line. Family portraits are an incredibly important item for all families to have. A family portrait allows you to capture your family as it currently exists and creates a lasting record for years to come. Sadly, many families can’t remember the last time they had a professional family portrait taken. Or even worse, have never had one taken. Don’t wait till something happens that makes it impossible to capture your current family setup. Do something important and lasting for your family this year and take a family portrait. You won’t regret it.
